Officially Starting......

Its about a year since I started this blog,so let me officially start by quoting from my favourite book more so my favourite author "India will be much poorer-the world will be poorer -when the wild places of this earth and of this land are bereft of their animal life, and mankind has grown so materially-minded that the calm, sweet hour of solitude and meditation will have become lost to him for ever" -Kenneth Anderson

Some info about my current self, I'm just waiting to finish my Bachelors degree in commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. I got into Loyola mostly because of a rubber stamp behind my neck, the rubber stamp of D.A.V [Drums in the background].Everyone considers the students coming out of D.A.V to be brilliant, intelligent, teachers pet and in general be nerdy. If you do have this stamp on you, you will invariably be the teachers pride and your friends most hated fellow classmate.

I have to admit that most D.A.Vians[Drums] live upto all the allegations that their classmates accuse them of. If I think of it today I never liked the school, it went against every single-one of my principles of education, starting with the fact that it was given forcefully.

A few weeks back I received a offer from the University of Edinburgh for an MSc. in Carbon Management.
I was delighted to say the least and I am looking forward to the events that will follow in the next few years.

I fall under the category of an agnostic and this was a recent self discovery until then I deluded myself into thinking I was a complete non believer. More research on this front is underway,I think in this field of study,it will take me a life time to arrive at a consensus.Another self discovery I made was the fact that I do my best and my true nature emerges only outside home and in the midst of unknown people and friends. Therefore I seem to be 2 different persons to different people.
I am writing this blog at home so this material might not be that accurate!

I recently attended a talk on "Deep Ecology" by John Seed. His message was to shake people out of the illusion that Humans and Nature are 2 different things,he went on to explain that Christianity was partly responsible in bringing about this attitude that Humans were superior beings , only humans had a soul, other living things did not and other such blasphemous[I love this word, best used and heard in 'Life of Brain' by Monty Python] things.
So only if we think that we a re a part of nature can we actually draft plans to save and conserve it.This was the crux of the talk.Discussions followed on after the talk at The Book Point.

What i really feel is that because we are a part of nature, it is completely natural for humans to be humans[Destructive, non rational and have herd mentality] In the course of time, humans will destroy everything, until he becomes 'smarter'[less dumb and less all the other natural human characteristics] We will evolve into a better, smarter human who can foresee what the consequences for his actions will be. Therefore after 500 years you will encounter a human with a less destructive and less intrusive nature, they will be doing this by instinct and not by choice, because humans will evolve into this smarter human in order to save its species, if it doesn't present-day humans will wipe themselves off the face of the earth, the human body will not be able evolve fast enough to bear the pollution in the air and water. You will see the future human resembling a modern day naturalist.

So all naturalists everywhere cheer, you are a highly evolved human, everyone in the future is going to think like us, at least that's what I think.

A bit long for my first post, but I started this blog a year back,I had to compensate
